Mount Rigi

Mt Rigi (1798 m / 5898 ft) is not particularly high, but it is well known for its splendid panorama over the alps. Mt Rigi can be reached either by Intercity trains from Zurich or Basel / Lucerne to Arth-Goldau or from Lucerne by ship; from both sides there is a cogwheel train climbing the mountain peak. Mount Rigi also offers several easy-to-go hiking trails, some of them are even open in winter.
